MasterClass Image-Guided Radiotherapy (16-17 January 2026 )

The aims of this masterclass are to provide a comprehensive understanding of image guided radiotherapy (IGRT) principles and their implementation in clinical practice. This is the first masterclass of its kind in Morocco, organized in collaboration with the European School of Oncology (ESO). Participants will learn how to optimize IGRT workflows based on available resources and equipment at their institutions. The course covers key aspects of IGRT including target localization, patient setup, treatment planning, and follow-up. Through lectures, hands-on workshops, and site visits, attendees will gain practical knowledge to enhance the precision and accuracy of radiotherapy delivery in their departments. The masterclass is designed for radiation oncologists, medical physicists, and radiation therapists seeking to advance their skills in this rapidly evolving field

  • Professor DAHBI Zineb
  • Professor FRANCO Pierfrancesco-Italy

The course is aimed at all professionals in the field of radiation oncology who are involved in target localization at any point in the treatment chain:

  • Radiation oncologists.
  • Residents in radiation oncology: starting from 4semester.
  • Medical physicists.
  • Radiation therapists (RTTs).

A good understanding of issues related to target delineation, target localization and patient set-up is a prerequisite as well as some experience in the field.

  • This is a 2-days course organized to identify the influence of image guidance at important steps in the workflow of radiation therapy. The following items will be covered in view of in-room imaging for therapy guidance:

    • Image guidance in treatment preparation and treatment planning
    • Image guidance in patient set-up and target localisation during treatment
    • Image guidance required for treatment prescription
    • Strategies and software tools for IGRT per sites.
    • Image guidance in treatment follow-up
  • Online material for self-study
  • Hybrid Lectures, for online and onsite participants
  • Practical Assignments: Case simulations for real-world application of IGRT techniques.
  • Date: 16-17 January 2026
  • 4 sessions
  • At The international Simulation Center of Mohammed VI University of Health Sciences
